Elevating Internal Audit Impact

Working with Internal Audit leaders to make internal audit (IA) more impactful while delivering the assurance and advisory plans in an ever-changing risk environment.

I combine my expertise and knowledge in IA with my mission as a transformation coach and team effectiveness facilitator to help internal audit leaders make internal audit a more relevant partner for all its stakeholders while enabling internal audit professionals to develop their social and interpersonal skills, which are increasingly needed characteristics for continuing to bring value to a business within a constantly changing risk environment.

While internal auditors’ technical skills are very imortant and a “must have”, they are not enough anymore! In a world of automation, where repetitive and predictable tasks are executed by AI and machine learning, internal auditors need to elevate their soft skills, and it starts with self-awareness and understanding the impact own behaviours have on the achieved results.

Together we look to find new ways to improve the trust and collaboration between IA and other functions, and in doing so we pay special attention to the unique skills and capabilities of each internal auditor within the team.

Neurodiversity within Internal Audit is of particular interest to me, an area which needs more attention and which when well understood can be an incredible source of co-creative results and elevating IA impact.

Working together we will raise individual and collective consciusness.

Internal auditors have a professional duty to provide an unbiased and objective view. They must be independent from the operations they evaluate and report to the highest level in an organisation. Typically this is the board of directors, the board of trustees, the accounting officer and or the audit committee.

"Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes."
